“I think that being in a band with four other guys is like probably the ultimate test of your friendship. We’re together 24 hours a day. We basically sleep together, we wash together, we hang out together, eat together, brush our teeth together. They’re my only friends. I don’t even have any other friends. So, it’s good to be in a band with people that you can actually…get along with and have fun. And not only just go on stage and play music, but go out in a bar or go out and have a good time. It’s not always about work, it’s not always about playing a show or doing interviews or making videos. A lot of times you just hang out and have fun. It’s good to be with my best friends all the time.”
When I met Chuck in Porto Alegre (13/11/2011), he saw my scars and ask me about my story and I told him all the pain I’ve had over the past couple of years and how his music always makes me feel better. He made me promise that I wouldn’t never hurt myself after that day. Then, on 18/10/2012, during soundcheck, I asked him to autograph my arm to cover my scars with something beautiful and he did it. After he talked to all the fans, he came up to me and talked to me again, he asked me how I was and gave me advices. It was the best time of my life. After the show, I’ve got his autograph tattooed. And now, when I feel weak and useless, and I have bad thoughts, I listen to Simple Plan and I look at my tattoo and somehow it makes me better. That’s why he’s my hero, that’s why I’ll always love Simple Plan. They, and especially Chuck, saved my life.
